The student stole appproximately $10,000 worth of camera equipment from the university. While the student had an impressive extracurricular record and considered the student's difficult family situation, the panel ultimately decided that these factors could not mitigate the gravity of the offense and its tangible impact on the university.

The student plagiarized one paragraph of an assignment, SafeAssign detected that the section was taken from an online source. The nature of the violation made it eligble for OER, and the student was assigned a sanction of academic probation for two semesters.

On a take-home exam, the professor detected that multiple answers the student had turned in were copied directly from Wikipedia. The panel considered the nature of the assignment, and the lack of intent demonstrated by the respondent.

Student repeatedly looked onto another student's exam. After turning in the exam, the student asked the professor to not grade the exam and instead allow the student to withdraw from the course. The professor declined to do so because the student chose to sit for the exam instead of withdrawing. The student plead responsible and after consideration of testimony and evidence, the Panel found beyond all reasonable doubt that the student's plea was credible and that the student cheated on the exam. Considering prior violations of the Honor Code and the present violation, the Panel found that permanent dismissal was proper. The student appealed to the Provost for review, and the Provost upheld the sanction.

The student consulted another student's answers during an in-class assignment. The panel considered the weight of the assesment in question, the structure of the class, the impact of the violation on the community at large, and the lack of premeditation in committing the violation.

The student plagiarized a portion of an assignment following a family emergency. The nature of the violation made it eligible for OER, and the student was assigned a sanction of disciplinary probation for two semesters.

The student lied claiming that the student completed and submitted an extra credit assignment. The student admitted to lying and the panel found no reason to not accept the plea of responsible. The Panel that the nature and gravity of the offense warranted no deviation from the presumptive sanction of suspension. The student appealed on the grounds of excessive sanctions, procedural irregularity, and new material evidence. The appeals committee found that none of the three grounds for appeal were with merit.

The respondent plagiarised almost the entirety of a final paper which constituted a large portion of a grade in the class. The panel considered the weight of the paper and the amount plagiarised, as well as the concrete steps the student had taken to remedy the violation.
